Don't forget to change the battery in your smoke detectors

Saturday, November 5, 2011  Remember tonight we set the clocks back so don’t forget to change the battery in your smoke detectors. This is also a great time to practice family fire drills. Thank you.
Also check your smoke detectors several time throughout the year to be sure the batteries are new, and the detectors are operating properly. If you do not have access to a smoke detector, or have none currently in your home, contact the Fire Station to see if one can be available for you needs.

New equipment for Fire Company

Wednesday, October 12, 2011  To assist with response of personnel while at the Station, two (2) new TV's were mounted in the Engine and Ambulance bays. These TV's are being used to display the Code Messaging program for incidents that Middletown is alerted to. The incidents are sent to the TV and information listed consists of type of call, address, box area and units dispatched to the alarm. In addition to that information, there is also an area in which members can text in their availability times, which a will also be listed on the screen.

Also, the Washington County portable radios have finally showed up!

These three (3) portables will enhance our ability to communicate with Washington County when responding to their jurisdiction. With the poor radio areas along the mountain between Middletown and Boonsboro, the current radio patch is somewhat spotty is those areas, thus causing safety issues when responding mutual aide.
