The Christ Methodis Church on South Church Street is also home to a Day care and Pre-school. Monday thru Friday, numerous classrooms are filled with youngsters learning from staff who work for the Church. During the time of the fire, the day was gettig ready to begin for teachers and children. Luckily, the area of the fire was on the other side of the Church, and nothing ever made it to the area in which the school is held.

During the first few minutes of the fire, the school was evecuated, and the children that had already arrived at the school along with the staff took shelter at the Firehouse. From there, the staff were able to make phone calls to parents to pick their children. Once allowed back into the Church, the childrens and staff personnal belongings were able to be retreived.

In addition to this, the school Children and staff visit the Station every year during Fire Prevention month. During this time the children are taught the normal things that are taught to children all over the world. Today, the children were able to get a refresher on these subjects, and also able to ask questions becsause of the fire.

Thanks to the Career Staff and Volunteers that assisted with the visit.
